All children must be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the audition process. The online registration form must be completed before attending.

 

REHEARSAL AND SHOW DATES - HENLEY 2027

Your child must be available for all rehearsal and show dates. Any rehearsals during the week will be from 4.30pm after school.

 

Rehearsal dates: Junior company only: 28th Feb, March 6th, 13th & 20th 2-5pm

Full company: March 25th - April 6th (Times to be confirmed).

Show dates: April 7th-11th (Shows will be split between two teams)

THE AUDITION & WHAT TO EXPECT

Our audition process is lots of fun and you don’t need to prepare any script or dance in advance. We’ll teach you a short dance routine and guide you through an acting workshop on the day.

There will be an optional singing audition section for those who are confident singers. You do not have to sing to attend the audition.

 

DANCE AUDITION

A choreographer will teach you a short routine.

Once everyone has learnt the routine, you will be split into smaller groups and asked to perform it for the creative team.

We’ll be looking at how you:

• Pick up choreography

• Keep time and rhythm

• Use your body and movement

• Remember the routine

• Perform with energy

• Take direction

• Work as part of a group

ACTING WORKSHOP​

You will take part in a fun group acting workshop led by company director Dan.

You’ll be taken through a panto-style opening of the show and asked to react to different situations as the story unfolds.

There are no wrong answers!

We want to see your:

• Imagination

• Facial expressions

• Comedy

• Reactions

• Character

• Confidence

• Ability to take direction

• Willingness to make big choices

Don’t be afraid to be silly! We want to see your personality.

SINGING AUDITION — OPTIONAL​

If you feel confident singing and would like us to hear your voice, please prepare a short section of a song of your choice - maximum 30 seconds. If singing isn’t your thing, don’t worry - you can still audition without singing.

You will sing without music or a backing track, so choose a song you know well and feel comfortable singing on your own. But remember to sing it with lots of energy and smiles! Make it a performance.

​​

There will be opportunities within Mother Goose for members of the Junior Company to have solo singing lines so if you enjoy singing we’d love to hear you. We’re interested in: Your voice, Confidence, Pitch and Performance.
